EU-JAMRAI Policy Briefs

The EU-JAMRAI project is the European Union Joint Action on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Healthcare- Associated Infections (HCAIs). EU-JAMRAI is a partnership of 44 partners and over 40 stakeholders, and their mission is to foster synergies across all members using a One Health approach to influence policy to tackle Antimicrobial Resistance and Healthcare-Associated Infections.

This project ended on 21st February 2021 after three and a half years, however their legacy lives on through the policy documents and recommendations they have made, many of which can be found below:

A policy brief that highlights the importance of the One Health approach, targeting implementation strategies and timely surveillance in human and animal health.

A policy brief developed in collaboration with the Global Antimicrobial Resistance Research and Development Hub. Information was collected from in depth interviews with 13 countries highlighting a clear need for specific and detailed incentives.

A policy brief that highlights the need for an extension and strengthening of the Antimicrobial Resistance One Health Network mandate.

This policy brief invites EU Member States and European Commission to encourage relevant EU Agencies to develop core elements on antimicrobial stewardship and infection prevention and control.

A policy brief that encourages the European Commission to establish indicators and targets to monitor the progress of EU actions plans, using an One Health approach.

This policy brief uses antibiotic prescribing as a case study to show the need for a framework to facilitate the translation of evidence into health policies.

This advocacy brief presents the critical and un-met needs which highlight the need to enlarge the scope of EU-JAMRAI through a new European joint action, namely EU-JAMRAI-2.

A policy brief that encourages the European Commission to establish indicators and targets to monitor the progress of EU actions plans, using an One Health approach.

This policy brief lists the infection prevention and control (IPC) research priorities and financial requirements identified by EU-JAMRAI in order to strengthen IPC.
