Q. How did the One Health EJP partners respond to the COVID-19 pandemic?
Joint Integrative Project COVRIN was established in 2021 to address this global health threat by providing an integrated Coronavirus research network across 21 partner institutes.
COVRIN focused on the detection of SARS-CoV2 in animal species and the environment and improved SARS-CoV2 diagnostic techniques and modelling tools beneficial for SARS-CoV2 surveillance and risk assessment. This work ensures better preparedness for future Coronavirus disease outbreaks.
Overall, COVRIN has successfully provided One Health research integration on SARS-CoV-2 emergence, risk assessment and preparedness at the human-animal interface.
