Congratulations to One Health EJP PhD student Ciriac Charles for his first journal publication in Frontiers in Microbiology!
Ciriac works on PhD project PEMbo and his research is based at ANSES – The French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety, and INRAE – National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment, in France. His project focuses on better understanding the genetic evolution of Mycobacterium bovis causing bovine tuberculosis in France. The One Health approach is needed to address the chronic zoonotic disease of bovine tuberculosis due to M. bovis.
His published article “IS6110 Copy Number in Multi-Host Mycobacterium bovis Strains Circulating in Bovine Tuberculosis Endemic French Regions” studied the abundance and location of the IS6110 insertion gene sequence on M. bovis genomic data of French animal field strains.
Thanks to all co-authors for their contributions to this publication.
The Consortium supports and celebrates the research achievements of our PhD students. They represent the future of One Health!
