Congratulations to Sarah Humboldt-Dachroeden at Roskilde University, for gaining her doctorate.

Sarah successfully defended her thesis for OHEJP PhD project SUSTAIN in June. This interdisciplinary project spanned social science, health and environment disciplines.

Sarah’s research aimed to understand the drivers and constraints for the institutionalisation of the One Health approach across Europe. This information was based on the experiences and expertise of scientists and policy actors from European public health, veterinary, food and environment institutes, and key organisations e.g. European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), World Health Organization (WHO) and The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

Her PhD project has provided insights into the challenges and opportunities that can be used to facilitate One Health institutionalisation, create networks, and bridge disciplinary silos.
