Congratulations to Filip Dámek for gaining his doctorate degree!
In April, Filip successfully defended this thesis for PhD project ToxSauQMRA at École nationale vétérinaire d’Alfort – EnvA.
Filip conducted his PhD research at École nationale vétérinaire d’Alfort – EnvA and ANSES to assess the hazard of the zoonotic parasite Toxoplasma gondii. The lifecycle of this parasite involves different animal species and humans. His research examined the epidemiology of Toxoplasma gondii in different animal species.
He also conducted a quantitative microbial risk assessment of acquiring new T. gondii infections in humans, especially from meat products. Surveillance for Toxoplasma gondii in animal populations and risk assessment of meat/meat products are vital to understand the public health risk.
